My television blaze shock

My television blaze shock

A POWER surge from a generator is believed to have caused a woman’s television set to catch fire in her bedroom.

The blaze took place about 9.30am yesterday at the Erbistock home of 28-year-old Katerina Novotna. She is the general manager of The Boat at Erbistock and lives next door to the inn.

Miss Novotna said she was scared for her safety by the fire and she had to be checked over by ambulance staff for smoke inhalation afterwards.

“It started when I heard a noise coming from the television. The set wasn’t on but it was plugged in,” she said.

Wrexham football hooligan jailed and banned

A WREXHAM football hooligan has been jailed for six months and banned from attending matches for five years.

Jonathan Greg Taylor, of Briarswood, Rhosrobin, was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for a public order offence and for failing to surrender to bail.

Taylor, 22, was involved in trouble outside The Racecourse ground on October 15 last year, both before and after Wrexham’s match with Stockport County.

Wrexham Magistrates Court heard police had to use their batons to quell trouble which saw people involved fall over passing cars.
